I am writing on behalf of Northland Church in Longwood, FL. I wanted to express my sincerest thanks for the integrity, Christ-like character, and kingdom focus that you displayed when working with us. You are an inspiration to those who work with you. Your Christ focus and care for His church is evident in the way you conduct business.

We are a particular group down here in Central Florida. You were flexible enough to handle us with care and strong enough to let us lead. I cannot express enough how grateful we are to have worked with you, built a relationship with you, and walked with you through some difficult times in the life of The McKnight Group.

We pray that God will continue to bless you and your company. I would recommend you without hesitation to anyone who would care to listen. Please feel free to call if I can contribute on your behalf. I hope to be able to. God bless you.

Our experience with The McKnight Group was exceptional from the very first consultation. They were extremely attentive to our needs and dreams. They put our agenda ahead of their own as they patiently led us through the process. They not only listened but also gave wise input from their many years of church-building experience. We felt comfortable and confident with the partnership that was forged with The McKnight Group. Through each step of the process, we found them to be very personable and professional. I would highly recommend their services to any congregation looking to expand their ministry through building!

Functional Space! The McKnight Group has helped us accomplish our vision by connecting the old with the new.  We were challenged to build a room to host community events and at the same time keep our Senior Adults all on one floor. We were also challenged to build an indoor play land. This dream became reality…

As your church grows, the need for space grows. Buildings cannot grow the church, but without them, it is hard for the church to grow.

At Hillvue Heights Church, we have partnered with The McKnight Group for our new facility. We have found them to be a group of men and women who understand the needs of the church in the 21st Century, committed to the cause of the Kingdom of God, which was a great encouragement for us. Because of their commitment to the reality of Jesus Christ, they are able to design buildings that allow the church of the 21st Century to continue reaching the people surrounding it. The McKnight Group has designed well for us, and they are a pleasure with whom to work and interact. I fully recommend The McKnight Group for your next building.

Sincerely,

First Church of God, Columbus, OH

We, First Church of God, are pleased to have the opportunity of providing a reference for The McKnight Group.

Therefore, to whomever it may concern, we recommend The McKnight Group with complete confidence to other churches and organizations that are endeavoring to build, expand or develop their physical plant. Over the last fifteen years, First Church of God and The McKnight Group has forged a partnership that is built on a solid foundation of competence, creditability, diligence, excellence, integrity, and professionalism. On three separate occasions we have partnered with The McKnight Group.

  • 1989 – McKnight Group designed and built for us a 700 seat sanctuary, classrooms, and administrative offices, all totaling 20,000 sq. ft.
  • 2000 – Designed and built our current 1500 seat multi-purpose worship center, administrative offices, youth worship center, classrooms, kitchen, music room, and child care facilities, all totaling 47,000 sq. ft.
  • 2003 – Designed and built our family life center, complete with a 950 seat multi-purpose youth worship center, computer lab, fitness center, college classrooms and conference center, full service cafe, Christian education classrooms, administrative offices and child care facilities, all totaling 42,000 sq. ft.

Over the years we have done much research, talked with other architects and builders, and visited other large and small churches all over the nation. We are convinced that The McKnight Group’s creative genius along with their ability to blend in functionality and multi-purposes can only be paralleled by a few and they are far superior to most.

We find The McKnight Group’s staff to be capable and knowledgeable professionals. They have always gone above and beyond what is reasonable to assure our satisfaction. They are personable and tactful and simply pleasing to work with. We are equally impressed with their follow up, not just during the warranty period after construction is completed, but years beyond the warranty period.

As for construction costs, we find The McKnight Group to be quite competitive. All three projects were completed within the contracted cost estimates and changes were minimal.
These are just a few of the reasons why we contracted with The McKnight Group on three consecutive projects. The McKnight Group comes highly recommended by the Leadership at First Church of God.

Sincerely,
Harold L. Gibson,

“This is the second time we have worked on a project with the McKnight Group.

The ministry orientation of the company is extraordinary, and the creative ideas McKnight offers for configuring attractive and user-friendly ministry space, exceptional. David has been patient and compliant with our internal church decision making processes–truly an experienced professional. And with a Christ centered spirit of encouragement, McKnight offers all kinds of helpful ideas…from design, to fundraising, to best practices for analyzing ministry performance. If you are thinking about building a facility or expansion, work with McKnight!”

Beavercreek Nazarene, Beavercreek, OH

Wanted to drop you a letter of deep appreciation for the relationship with your company this past year in the new addition and the renovation of our sanctuary, constructed by your company in 1993. The whole process for me was a learning experience being I had never been involved in a building project in my previous 27 years of ministry. Every person we encountered in the process from initial planning through the completion of the project was extremely helpful and accommodating.

When I came to Beavercreek in 1997, I became aware of the name McKnight because of your previous association with BCN through the pastor at the time, Jim Mahan. I heard many good comments about that previous experience, which made the decision easier in regards to the company that we would use for this project. As with all projects, I became aware, not everything was perfect and smooth but the relationship was more than just a builder/congregation setting. It was a relationship built on working together for the best interest of the church. The process of communication was truly a learning experience. The relationship of one side wanting to work at a professional level but also at a personal level to work the process through to a satisfactory completion.

I want to personally acknowledge the working relationship with Dick “Senior” Cornell and Roe “Junior” Watkins on the site. Both these individuals were of tremendous help to me throughout the whole project. Always willing to answer “amateur” (that’s why I’ll stick to the senior pastorate) questions. The very stern and concerned professionalism that was projected in doing the job right, was seen in every area of the project. Making the sub-contractors follow through on what they were supposed to and being very determined to make it right. Dick and Roe were more help than any expressions I could make in this letter. They always had time for me to show them this or that in regards to something I had seen on my walk through the building, which was quite often I might say. The impression they gave to me was that I was important to them. They made me feel like they were part of my family and wanted to make sure things were right. The personal side was such a blessing to our people in this long process. Even though there were bumps along the way they were constantly being smoothed out by the people we come in contact with from The McKnight Group. It is my intent for you to once again pass on to these gentlemen my heart felt appreciation for making this building program such a wonderful experience. Am I ready for another one with this kind of feeling? Not quite, but this experience was truly a good one for me thanks to these men.

Also, I want to thank Dale Taylor for his continued servant heart to BCN. It seemed to me he had the rough task of being the go-between. That is not the easiest in the world. Dale was very professional and personal. His attitude of working with the customer to do whatever needs to be done for the relationship to stay intact was a strong point of this whole process working. Thank you, Dale for your customer service attentiveness.

This letter is intended to be an open letter for anyone that might be considering The McKnight Group for their building project. My experience with them places the whole organization in an overly high rating recommendation. Thank you for a building that is reaching our neighborhoods for Christ. What you did for us in this project was give us usable space to allow our community to know they are welcome at BCN. This building is their building. The functionality of the facility can be attributed to the relationship of The McKnight Group to the people of BCN. Thanks for being a part of our vision “Bridging Church to Neighborhoods.”

Sincerely,
Kevin J. Wentworth

First Church of the Nazarene, Indianapolis, IN

I am writing to commend you, without reservation, the first quality work of McKnight and Hosterman, architects. Our $6,000,000.00 project for First Church of the Nazarene was professionally and thoroughly handled by the McKnight and Hosterman organization.

Their experience became a reservoir of information from which we drew repeatedly. Their attitude, expertise and sensitivity to our desires made the project the overwhelming success we had prayed for.

As we look to the future, anticipating a $10,000,000.00 expansion program, McKnight and Hosterman will be my choice.

Please feel free to contact me personally if you have further questions.

Enthusiastically,

The single most important piece that God provided to BHFMC was The McKnight Group as our partner in both designing and building our new construction project. To a person, everyone from The McKnight Group was consummate professionals, excellent business partners, and most important Christ-like examples of God’s outrageous love.

Berachah Church, Middletown, OH

Middletown, Ohio, located between Cincinnati and Dayton, is a thriving city of 50,000 surrounded by several other communities such as Franklin, Trenton and Monroe, Close to the center of Middletown’s sprawling 25 square miles was the 50 year old, no longer in operation, Verity Middle School, situated on 60 acres of beautiful open and wooded space. Early in 2015 Berachah Church, with a congregation of less than 400, was able to secure this property.

After looking at several church builders, Berachah chose McKnight because of their willingness to tackle an old building with many challenges, and because of their basic design concepts to best utilize the available space. There were, in fact, even more “old building” problems to deal with than we ever expected, but in the end they were all resolved.

As we moved into the “new” building in September 2016, the design really shone through and is still evidenced by the comments of our many visitors and by our own members as they use the new space week after week. It is perhaps most important to mention the unique design decision to split the old school stage to connect the awesome 500 seat sanctuary (the old gym), and the huge Gateway Welcome Center (the old cafeteria).

We continue to be awed by these spaces, and the well-designed children’s area. God has surely blessed!! Berachah (meaning a place of blessing) is well recognized in the Middletown area and continues to grow. We look forward to the next phase of expansion and eventually to the building of a much larger worship center.

Linden Life Fellowship, Columbus, OH

We presented McKnight with a metal building shell, a former warehouse. They listened to us and came back with an amazing layout of the space that met all our ministry needs, They thought of everything! We said, “Go,” and the space was built out with excellence from start to finish! One of their executives even showed up to install ceiling tile to help meet a deadline! If we build again, we will choose McKnight again!

Cypress Wesleyan Church, Galloway, OH

Cypress Wesleyan Church has enjoyed a great working partnership with The McKnight Group for several years. Through each and every season of life and ministry as our facility needs have changed, The McKnight Group has always been there to help us think through facility options, offered at the best available prices.

The preparation time The McKnight Group puts on the front-end design phase has always paid off on the back end…. Not only in lower financial costs but by creating an effective facility design environment where life transformations can occur.

Ken Murphy, Senior Pastor

Fearless Church, Centerville, OH

As we launched Fearless Church we needed an effective multi-purpose space that would not only be functional, but also help us build the right culture within our community. McKnight helped us make that priority a reality.

We were able to turn an abandoned car dealership into an engaging worship center and gathering place. The McKnight team helped us maximize our space, work through the challenges of a full remodel, and allow us to complete the project on budget. Their team understood and embraced our desire to advance God’s Kingdom. You have to see the before and after pictures to truly appreciate the transformation!

Andy Hahn, Executive Pastor

Whitewater Crossing Christian Church, Cleves, OH

The Lord has blessed our church at Whitewater in amazing ways. One huge catalyst in this growth was the building/opening of a brand new facility. McKnight was our builder of choice for this and has been a great partner. They “get it” when it comes to blending mission and sacred space.

If you are contemplating a new facility, I would not hesitate to contact them for advice and help. You will not be disappointed.

David Vaughan, Senior Pastor

Church of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Westerville, OH

With great flexibility, The McKnight Group heard us and developed a plan based on both our commitment to traditional worship and our desire to position future generations of worship.  Today, we have the traditional aspects of a pipe organ, pews, cross, and stained glass, yet the incredible advanced technology of environmental projection, enhanced lighting options, and flexible seating.  Everything in our chancel area is portable, allowing us to adapt to the new and emerging ways of worship.  Our worship environment can easily change from the Sea of Galilee to an Empty Tomb to a Manger in Bethlehem with easy-to-use technology that brings a new level of excitement and engagement in worship.  We are so blessed to be positioned for an exciting, dynamic future of worship in our newly remodeled space.
