Design and Ministry Needs

First Baptist Clermont is located in the beautiful hills of Lake County, approximately 20 miles west of Orlando, Florida. The church previously met in a downtown facility built in 1950 which was land-locked with limited parking and seating capacity. In order to provide room for growth the church knew that they would need to relocate. In 2016 God opened the door for the church to purchase a 39-acre wooded property in a growing residential area just a few miles from their existing facility. The church then selected The McKnight Group to design a Master plan for their new property and complete Construction Documents for Phase 1 of their church facility.

Highlights

A drive-under canopy welcomes you as you approach the glass entry and foyer area. Inside the high, open foyer space you are greeted by an information desk and café seating area with lots of natural daylight. A new multi-ministry worship center space seats 500 for worship and up to 320 for dining events, and includes a large, flexible platform. Next to the café is a secure children’s check-in area which is themed with an outdoor feel, including a tree and treehouse. From this secure children’s check-in area you can access several nursery and preschool classrooms, as well as a multi-us children’s large-group space with classrooms. In addition, the Phase 1 facility includes a commercial kitchen, office suite, and plenty of parking, all of which add to the church’s ability to grow and provide new and effective ministries for their community.

Results

With The McKnight Group’s expertise and guidance, and coordination with a local Florida General Contractor, First Baptist Clermont was able to complete a total relocation, providing the needed space to grow and achieve their mission in greater ways than would have previously been possible.
