Hocking Hills United Methodist Church
Design and Ministry Needs
Hocking Hills United Methodist Church is located in the beautiful Hocking Hills area of southeast Ohio. The church previously met in a downtown facility built in 1851, but knew they would need to relocate in order to provide the ministries to which God was calling them. The included reaching young adults, young families, and the youth of their community, as well as the older generations in their area. After purchasing a beautiful 44-acre property just a few miles away, the church selected The McKnight Group to design a Master Plan for their new property and build a Phase 1 church facility.
Highlights
The beautiful lodge-style canopy welcomes you as you approach the glass entry and foyer area. Inside the large foyer you are greeted by an information desk, café, fireplace, and large windows looking out over the property. A new multi-ministry worship center space seats 450 for worship and up to 300 for dining events, includes athletics and a large, flexible platform. Existing stained-glass windows from the previous building were relocated and are featured in the worship center and foyer. A multi-use children’s large-group space and classrooms, kitchen, office suite, and adequate parking all add to the church’s ability to provide new and effective ministries for their community.
Results
With The McKnight Group’s expertise and guidance, Hocking Hills United Methodist Church was able to complete a total relocation, enabling the church to achieve their mission in greater ways than would have previously been possible.
