Design and Ministry Needs
The church had a Master Plan for a new Sanctuary and classrooms along with a larger foyer and youth space. The project budget was too large for the church to fund at one time so the first Phase was built to meet the needs of a new foyer, offices, special needs classroom space and youth space.
The addition improved circulation between floors of the existing building. The new foyer provides a welcoming appearance for people as they come in with a large multi-story window overlooking the wooded property. An existing stained-glass cross was relocated to be in the center of this window. A new cafe and hospitality space provides room for relationships to be made. The building also provided a new check-in space for children with an indoor playland space. Offices were built to relocate the church staff to a centralized location. A new youth room was added with an assembly area along with a youth cafe and game space/hang out area. The Phase I building was designed to maximize space and make provisions for the future Master Plan additions to tie on.
The project was completed, and the youth, offices and classroom space provide much needed room for the church’s ministries. The improvements to circulation and foyer allow for people to build relationships and fellowship with one another on Sundays. During the week it provides a place for the community to gather and make connections with church volunteers and staff while they are part of different events and weekly activities.
